Google’s AI Mode starts finding restaurant booking slots in Japan
Google has begun rolling out restaurant reservation search in Japan through AI Mode. People can combine location, time, party size and food preferences in one request. The service checks availability across booking sites and provides links to suitable restaurants. Users complete their chosen reservation on the booking page, with access expanding gradually over several weeks.

One request combines the dinner requirements
Google began introducing restaurant reservation search in Japan through AI Mode, its conversational Search feature, on November 6. A request can describe dinner with friends and combine the number of people, preferred date and time, area and cuisine. The service searches multiple booking services and other websites for suitable restaurants rather than requiring the user to enter each condition separately on each site.[1]
Available slots link to booking pages
The system checks availability in real time and returns places with bookable slots. The user then opens the booking link for their chosen restaurant and finishes the reservation on that page. Japanese partners include the restaurant information and booking services Gurunavi, Ikkyu and ebica. These services supply options for the search; the final reservation is completed by the user through the linked page.[1]
Japanese access expands gradually
The Japanese rollout began on November 6, with Google planning to extend access over several weeks. The user receives the feature gradually. The announcement includes a demonstration of the restaurant search on a phone.[1], [2]
