Holo4 aims to work across screens, code and APIs with one model
H Company released two Holo4 models designed to act through screens, code, MCP tools and APIs, and posted their weights. The central claim is that one model can continue a task across interfaces. The company’s benchmark comparisons use different testing conditions. Published action traces let others inspect the disclosed runs, but they do not establish reliability across other workflows.
India’s August factory growth lifts industrial output by 8 per cent
India’s industrial production grew 8 per cent from a year earlier in August, with manufacturing and electricity and gas supply advancing while mining contracted. July’s growth was revised to 7.4 per cent. The quick estimate shows how uneven the expansion was across sectors, and it may still be revised when more factory responses arrive.
India’s three-day bank strike is deferred after late talks
Indian bank unions deferred a nationwide three-day strike after late talks with the banks’ association. Branches were expected to follow their ordinary schedules after the decision. A joint committee will examine the unions’ demand for a five-day week. Negotiations on senior officers’ incentives and other unresolved issues will continue. The working week has not yet changed.
Juice uses Earth’s gravity to bend its route toward Jupiter
Europe’s Juice spacecraft completed an Earth flyby, using the planet’s gravity to turn toward Jupiter and gain speed. It passed about 8,640 kilometers above the Indian Ocean while mission teams monitored the encounter. Science instruments also observed Earth and the Moon during the pass. Those measurements still need analysis; the confirmed result is a course correction on a journey scheduled to reach Jupiter in 2031.
Kyauktaw market and bridge hit by airstrikes; Arakan Army reports at least 33 dead
Airstrikes hit a market and adjacent bridge in Kyauktaw, Myanmar’s Rakhine State. The Arakan Army reported at least 33 dead and 36 injured; A local aid worker confirmed those figures to Reuters. Local outlet DVB had counted at least 10 deaths in its earlier report. The figures came at different times and should not be treated as one definitive toll.
Kyoto team scales SiC transistors to a 150 mm wafer
Kyoto University and Phenitec Semiconductor moved two silicon-carbide transistor types from small samples onto a 150 mm wafer in an industrial plant. Threshold voltage varied little across its central 90 mm. That advances fabrication of multiple devices together, but the announcement gives no matching uniformity figure for the whole wafer and shows no working integrated circuit. The results were presented at a conference and have not appeared in a journal.
Low-dose radiation trial finds fewer knee replacements in an early-disease subgroup
A clinical trial presented at the Boston radiation oncology meeting linked a low radiation dose to longer pain relief and less joint deterioration in nonadvanced knee osteoarthritis. In a grade two subgroup, knee replacements occurred in 14% of those given radiation plus medicines, compared with 36% on medicines alone. The subgroup finding remains exploratory; the study lacked simulated radiation and a larger controlled trial is needed.
Macero returns to Venezuela as Machado supporters demand an election
Claudia Macero, communications chief for Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado, returned to Venezuela on Sunday night after roughly a year and a half in exile. Machado’s movement held caravans that day calling for her safe return and a presidential election in 2027. Macero gave no date for Machado’s return. Her arrival made the movement’s demand for a path home concrete, while the election timetable remains unsettled.
Malaysia’s producer prices rise 10.7 per cent as mining costs climb
Malaysia’s producer price index for domestic output rose 10.7 per cent from a year earlier in August, up from 9.7 per cent in July. Mining posted the largest sector increase, led by crude-petroleum extraction. The measure tracks prices received by producers, so its acceleration is a signal about costs at the start of the supply chain rather than a reading of household inflation.
