Chanel extends its support for M+

M+, Hong Kong’s museum of contemporary visual culture, has extended its partnership with Chanel for another three years. The fashion house becomes one of the museum’s lead partners under the expanded agreement announced on 21 October.[1], [2]

The first partnership began in 2023 with a focus on film programming, restoration and collection development. The new term adds exhibitions, public events and digital presentations through an initiative called Pioneering Visions. M+ is located in Hong Kong’s West Kowloon Cultural District and works across art, design, architecture and moving image.[1]

Sarah Sze exhibition is planned for February

The museum has announced Sarah Sze: Centrifuge for its M+ Focus Gallery in February 2027. Pioneering Visions emphasises artists from Hong Kong, Greater China and Asia, and work focused on Asia. A digital content hub has already launched on the museum’s website. Director Suhanya Raffel described the partnership’s ambition to explore connections between artistic disciplines.[1]

Restored Hong Kong films return in November

M+ Restored has restored nine feature-length Hong Kong films during the partnership. According to the museum, they have reached more than 130 screenings at international festivals and other venues. All nine are scheduled to return to M+ in November. The restoration programme also plans to take on six further films from across Asia in 2027.[1]
