Nicdao leads the announced ensemble

Charlotte Nicdao and David Wenham have joined Crime Casters, a feature from Haven’t You Done Well Productions, the Australian company founded by comedy group Aunty Donna. Max Miller directs the crime comedy from Scott Limbrick’s screenplay. Nicdao plays Claire, a young journalist whose plan to make a true-crime podcast in a rural town leads her into a criminal investigation.[1], [2]

A body interrupts the podcast project

Claire sees a police officer disposing of a body. The fictional mystery also involves sinkholes, unidentified flying object enthusiasts, missing podcasters and a billionaire. Alexei Toliopoulos plays the exacting audio engineer working alongside her. The cast includes Aunty Donna members Mark Bonanno, Broden Kelly and Zachary Ruane, as well as Shaun Micallef, Kate McLennan and Kate McCartney.[1]

Australian film bodies support the production

Monique Mulcahy, Austin Hayden and Georgia Mappin produce the film. Screen Australia, the national screen agency, supplies major production investment, with VicScreen and the Melbourne International Film Festival’s Premiere Fund also supporting it. Rialto handles local distribution and Blue Finch Films international sales. The announced cinema release is in 2027; Madeleine Sami, Greg Larsen and Zoe Coombs Marr also feature in the ensemble.[1]
