Glitter expands to 27 tracks

Singer Mariah Carey’s Glitter returned on 30 October in a digital edition marking its 25th anniversary. Def Jam Records/UMe released the expanded album, which adds 15 recordings for a total of 27 tracks. The selection includes archive material, alternate vocal performances, concert recordings and new remixes. Glitter originally appeared on 11 September 2001 as Carey’s eighth studio album and the soundtrack to the film of the same name.[1], [2]

Early vocal takes and writing sessions enter the collection

The archive additions include a 1997 version of Lead The Way, a Carey-only Want You and an alternate vocal performance of Out Here On My Own. All My Life appears without instrumental accompaniment. A writing-session interlude and rough demo document Never Too Far’s development. The concert material includes a Never Too Far / Hero medley with Westlife and a Glitter medley from the Caution tour.[1]

Loverboy’s original film elements are reassembled

A restored Loverboy video accompanied the anniversary edition. David LaChapelle directed the video at LA County Raceway in May 2001. The restoration used the original 35 mm film elements, scanning them individually and rebuilding the sequence to match the original edit. The album also includes a new All My Life remix by Channel Tres, Rochelle Jordan’s summer reinterpretation of Didn’t Mean To Turn You On, and Loverboy remixes by MJ Cole and Club Of Love.[1]
