Yaeji releases DDR with a video built around dance-floor movement

Yaeji has released DDR through XL Recordings, with Enayet and K Wata collaborating on the track and Giseong Jun directing its video. The title invokes the arcade game Dance Dance Revolution. The artist connects the release to dancing together and looking after one another, and has announced a November 6 event at Brooklyn’s Paragon.

DDR arrives with a dance-focused video

Musician Yaeji has released the single DDR.[1], [2]

Musician Yaeji has issued the single DDR through record label XL Recordings. Enayet and K Wata worked with her on the track, whose title refers to Dance Dance Revolution, the arcade rhythm game in which players follow dance steps. Filmmaker Giseong Jun directed the accompanying video, with its emphasis on detailed foot movements.[1]

Yaeji describes a dance floor built on mutual care

Explaining the song in the video’s YouTube caption, Yaeji traced its idea to a night out in New York. She described imagining an alternative to a world she found suffocating. Her account centered on people gathering to dance, making water available and protecting one another from harassment, while each person also follows an inward journey through the music. These are the intentions she gave for the release.[1]

A Brooklyn event is scheduled for November 6

Yaeji has announced an all-night release event for Friday, November 6 at Paragon, a venue in Brooklyn, New York. Fellow performers DJ Swisha, OSSX, Lil C and DJ Noir are on the bill. DDR is her first single of 2026, following last year’s Pondeggi and Booboo2, her collaboration with musicians Underscores and Aliyah’s Interlude. Her album With a Hammer came out in 2023, before the subsequent run of standalone singles.[1]
