Lawrence performs Deep in the Meadow
The companion album for the film The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping has named its featured performers, including singers Ella Langley and Noah Cyrus and actor Mckenna Grace.[1], [2]
Lawrence sings Deep in the Meadow; Langley contributes Here Then We’re Gone and Childers supplies Old Money. Actor Mckenna Grace performs Half Alive. Actor Whitney Peak appears on three Raven tracks and The Goose and The Common. Dave Cobb is executive producer of the 29-track collection, which record label MCA has scheduled for November 13.[1]
New songs meet remixes and a live Cure recording
The selection includes new material from musicians Madison Cunningham, Violet Grohl, Noah Cyrus, Lizzy McAlpine, Carter Faith and Kashus Culpepper. Singer Noah Kahan’s Draw You Out preceded the collection as its lead single, followed in October by songs from rock band The Smashing Pumpkins and singer Gigi Perez.[1]
Previously existing songs appear in new forms: singer Kacey Musgraves’ Ruthless and singer Stevie Nicks’ Doing the Best That I Can receive Arena Mix versions. Electronic band Depeche Mode and musician KÁRYYN contribute a reworked Survive. Rock band The Cure closes the album with a performance of Alone recorded in Berlin in 2022.[1]
Howard’s orchestral score follows on November 20
The companion release is an album inspired by the film, in the tradition of earlier Hunger Games song collections. Composer James Newton Howard’s original score has a separate album scheduled for November 20, the date of the film’s theatrical opening. The song collection is scheduled a week earlier.[1]
