A second album together
Belgian musicians Charlotte Adigéry and Bolis Pupul announced Mainland Madinina on November 3, alongside the song From Healer to Dealer. It follows their 2022 collaborative album Topical Dancer. Stereogum gives February 5, 2027 as the release date through Deewee and Because Music. Pitchfork reports that Soulwax, the Belgian electronic music duo, again contributes to production, continuing its involvement with their earlier album.[1], [2]
A song about wellness culture
Pitchfork says From Healer to Dealer satirizes wellness culture through characters named Grace and Ruben. Lennert Madou directed the accompanying video. Stereogum identifies its performers as dancers Emmanuelle Mfulu and Mathias Goethals. The two musicians wrote the album in Ghent, Belgium, and Martinique, the island where Adigéry’s mother came from, according to Stereogum. Madinina is an indigenous name for Martinique.[1], [2]
The announced programme
The twelve-song track list starts with Restless and closes with I’m Lost. Googoo Gaga is second and From Healer to Dealer fifth. Both publications also list a tour beginning in Cologne, Germany, on February 21, 2027, followed by European dates before North American shows in March and April. The itinerary includes Paris, London, Los Angeles and Brooklyn, bringing the announced album to a transatlantic live programme.[1], [2]
