Hyperdub sets a February release
Tim Reaper’s debut solo album World’s End will arrive through Hyperdub on 19 February 2027. The album contains 11 tracks, and the lead single Roll Call has been shared with the announcement. Reaper previously made In Full Effect with Kloke, also released by Hyperdub, in 2024. The forthcoming album follows that collaboration as a solo project.[1], [2]
Roll Call draws on marching-band percussion
Roll Call brings footwork rhythms together with marching-band-style percussion. World’s End draws on jungle music alongside footwork, drill and gqom. Reaper has linked his experiments with different genres to his 2024 Scorched Earth EP. He said a conversation with a friend about the definition of jungle led him to think about the sounds that could fit inside its rhythmic framework.[1], [2]
Reaper describes an open rhythmic framework
In his statement, Reaper identified breakbeats and tempo as the central elements of jungle, while allowing other sounds to operate within that template. He said this encouraged him to try newer, less frequently referenced sounds. His recent releases also include EPs through FABRICLIVE, Rinse and Astrophonica, as well as his own Future Retro London label. Hyperdub’s February date is for the full World’s End album.[1]
