Product divisions split on monthly sales
Foxconn's August performance varied across its product divisions. Cloud and networking products and electronic components grew from the previous month, while smart consumer electronics and computing products declined. On an annual basis, the cloud and networking division reported strong growth amid AI demand. Smart consumer electronics also rose from a year earlier as customers rebuilt inventories before new product launches. The split shows that the increase in total sales was uneven across the company's product groups.[1]
August total ranks second among all months
The manufacturer's August sales rose 51.98 per cent from a year earlier to 921.77 billion Taiwan dollars. That was Foxconn's strongest August and its second-highest monthly total overall, behind 946.51 billion Taiwan dollars in July. Sales therefore remained above 900 billion Taiwan dollars for a second consecutive month. The total for the first eight months of the year increased 39.73 per cent to 6.51 trillion Taiwan dollars.[1], [2]
Visibility improves before the peak season
Foxconn said information and communication technology products were entering their second-half peak season. The company reported better visibility for the third quarter than a month earlier and said AI demand continued to support growth. It did not provide a numerical forecast and added that volatile global political and economic conditions still needed monitoring. Second-quarter profit had risen 35 per cent and beaten analyst estimates. The shares gained 3.4 per cent on Friday, compared with a 1.5 per cent rise in the broader market.[2]
