ADNOC opens 60 billion dirhams in local manufacturing opportunities

ADNOC has outlined more than 60 billion dirhams in manufacturing opportunities through 2030 as it seeks to source more products within the United Arab Emirates. The programme covers over 200 products and critical spare parts. It accompanies simpler supplier registration and procurement changes, giving manufacturers clearer access to the oil group’s future demand.

Manufacturing demand extends through 2030

Abu Dhabi National Oil Company, ADNOC, has outlined more than 60 billion dirhams in local manufacturing opportunities through 2030. The oil group in the United Arab Emirates wants over 200 essential products and critical spare parts made within the country. It presented future procurement demand to manufacturers and investors at its second Make it with ADNOC Forum in Abu Dhabi.[1], [2]

Suppliers face fewer entry requirements

ADNOC targets a reduction of up to 80 per cent in supplier registration and prequalification time. It plans to halve required documents and remove prequalification for 60 per cent of service categories. Registration, qualification and compliance are to share a single digital window, with requirements matched to the work and its risk. Document verification and reuse of submitted information are intended to reduce repetitive submissions.[1]

Local products gain procurement priority

The Local+ programme, which prioritises products manufactured in the United Arab Emirates for ADNOC projects, now includes more than 100 manufacturers, compared with 70 at its May launch. Contractors in new tenders are required to source relevant products from approved manufacturers. ADNOC also plans to combine commercial offers and suppliers’ contributions to the domestic economy in one evaluation, replacing its previous bid-matching approach.[1]
