Profit rises across the nine-month period
Vodafone Qatar, the telecom operator, reported net profit of about 611 million Qatari riyals for January through September, up roughly 23.7 percent from the same nine months a year earlier. Gulf Times reported the company results, and Qatar News Agency separately identified the same profit increase and period. The announcement concerns cumulative nine-month earnings, not profit from July through September alone.[1], [2]
Service revenue increased 8.1 percent from a year earlier to 2.4 billion riyals. Total revenue rose more slowly, by 4.7 percent, to 2.7 billion riyals. The wider total includes other sales such as equipment, while the service figure counts customer services. The company reported growth in its main service lines.[1]
Services lead revenue growth
Vodafone Qatar cited increases across mobile communications, managed services, fixed broadband, internet-connected devices and wholesale services. It counted 2.1 million mobile customers at the end of the period, 1.2 percent more than a year earlier. The service mix identifies the activities behind the reported revenue increase, while customer growth was much smaller than the increase in service revenue.[1]
Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation grew 10.9 percent year on year to 1.2 billion riyals. The corresponding margin increased by 2.5 percentage points to 45 percent. That is an operating earnings measure and must not be confused with the 611 million riyal net profit figure, which includes costs and accounting items excluded from the other measure.[1]
Margin and cash measures improve
The company also gave an underlying margin of 49.5 percent when equipment is excluded. The reported 45 percent margin uses the wider revenue base, so the two percentages answer different questions. Vodafone Qatar pointed to its continuing cost programme as one contributor to operating profitability alongside growth in service revenue. Those explanations are the company’s account of its results.[1]
Operating free cash flow totalled 669 million riyals over the nine months while the company continued investing. Its net profit margin rose by 3.5 percentage points to 22.6 percent. Annualised return on equity was 15.1 percent, 1.5 percentage points above its level for the 2025 financial year. These measures put the higher profit beside cash generation and profitability, without turning one quarter into a nine-month trend.[1]
