Fire reported at Kstovo after overnight attack
A fire was reported at an oil refinery in Kstovo, in Russia’s Nizhny Novgorod region, on Sunday after an overnight drone attack. Russian state media described the refinery blaze. Regional authorities reported damage at an industrial site in the district, while war-monitoring channels identified the affected enterprise as the refinery.[1], [2]
Governor warns of utility interruptions during repairs
Regional governor Gleb Nikitin said an industrial facility had sustained significant damage and emergency crews were working at the scene. He warned that restoration work could bring temporary power cuts and reduced supplies of hot water and heating to parts of residential utility networks. Nikitin referred to an industrial enterprise in the Kstovo district without himself identifying it as the refinery.[2]
Kyiv denies agreeing to a refinery-strike pause
The Kstovo incident followed an earlier refinery attack in Russia’s Samara region amid continuing Ukrainian strikes on petroleum infrastructure. Ukrainian officials denied agreeing to a thirty-day pause in attacks on Russian energy sites. Reports of US mediation and Jared Kushner’s involvement accompanied that dispute over whether a suspension had been accepted.[1]
