Osimhen scores twice before halftime

Galatasaray beat Fenerbahçe 2–1 at RAMS Park in the ninth round of Turkey's Süper Lig. Victor Osimhen scored both goals for the hosts in the 29th and 44th minutes before halftime. The two first-half finishes gave Galatasaray an advantage it carried through the derby despite Fenerbahçe's second-half response.[1], [2]

Osimhen's opener followed an exchange with Barış Alper Yılmaz in an attack started by Davinson Sánchez. The second followed Ismail Jakobs's long throw, with Osimhen touching in Sánchez's effort. Ederson had already denied Barış Alper twice and saved another Osimhen attempt before the interval.[1]

İrfan Can narrows the deficit

İrfan Can scored for Fenerbahçe in the 62nd minute to make it 2–1. Galatasaray goalkeeper Uğurcan Çakır had made a save early in the second half. Rafael Leão replaced Barış Alper in the 64th minute, while Lucas Torreira shot over in the 70th minute.[1]

Galatasaray reaches 22 points

Ederson saved Leão's attempt in the 75th minute, and Leão sent another effort wide in the 87th. Osimhen left for Wilfried Singo a minute later. Ederson also stopped Leroy Sané in added time. Galatasaray finished the round top on 22 points, with Konyaspor next on its league schedule.[1]
