Permane’s leadership agreement runs to 2031

Racing Bulls, the Italian Formula 1 team based in Faenza, has renewed Alan Permane’s contract through the end of 2031. He will continue as team principal and sporting co-chief executive. The agreement was announced during the São Paulo Grand Prix weekend and extends the leadership arrangement formed after his promotion to the top sporting role in July 2025. Permane first joined the team as racing director in January 2024.[1]

The renewed deal retains Alan Permane as the team’s sporting leader.[1], [2]

Bayer retains the commercial role

Peter Bayer remains commercial co-chief executive alongside Permane’s sporting leadership. Oliver Mintzlaff, who oversees Red Bull’s sporting projects, said Permane’s technical experience and operational leadership had supported the team’s progress. He presented the extension as a way to provide stability and continuity. Permane praised the people working around him and said he wanted to keep developing the organisation.[1]

The team pursues fifth after a sixth-place season

Racing Bulls finished sixth in last season’s constructors’ championship and is fighting for fifth this year. It took its first podium under its current identity at the 2025 Dutch Grand Prix. Before joining, Permane spent 34 years with the Enstone organisation, working in engineering and sporting management through the championship years of Michael Schumacher and Fernando Alonso.[1]
