Norman joins Vagnozzi in December

Italian tennis player Jannik Sinner has announced a change to his coaching team: Darren Cahill will leave at the end of the 2026 season, and Swedish coach Magnus Norman will join in December. Norman will work alongside Simone Vagnozzi, who stays in the team. A former world number two as a player, Norman takes up the role as Sinner holds that same ranking.[1], [2]

Cahill’s partnership began in June 2022

Cahill joined Sinner’s coaches in June 2022. During their time together, Sinner won five Grand Slam titles, the major championships in tennis, and twice won the season-ending men’s tour finals. He also completed victories at all nine different Masters 1000 events, a collection known as the Career Golden Masters. Sinner first became world number one in June 2024.[1]

Sinner thanks his departing coach

Sinner credited Cahill and Vagnozzi with helping him reach the top of the sport. He described Cahill’s experience, perspective and composure as steady support during their partnership. His farewell also stressed the trust and mutual respect that had grown into a close friendship beyond their professional work. The coaching handover is scheduled across the end of the season and the start of the following month.[1]
