Level totals, different seeds

Dunya Yenihayat and Kim Sumin finished the 72-arrow ranking round in Dakar on 688 apiece. World Archery’s account identifies inner tens as the detail that put Yenihayat first: 24 against 18. Six additional arrows in that central ring separated two identical totals in the announced seeding. Yenihayat took first place and the Youth Games record. Kim had more arrows in the ten ring, but the federation’s reported ranking placed Yenihayat ahead.[1]

For the archer, the immediate consequence is the position carried into the elimination phase. The figure 688 describes each competitor’s aggregate across the round; 24 and 18 reveal the central hits within it. Setting the totals side by side leaves the reason for first seed unexplained. Adding inner tens preserves both Kim’s equal score and Yenihayat’s ranking advantage. India’s Gatha Anandrao Khadake was third with 687: her gap to second appeared in the aggregate, while the distinction between the leading two appeared in the inner-ten column.[1]

Distance belongs beside those numbers. At 70 metres, Yenihayat has competed and won medals with Türkiye’s senior team, ten metres beyond the standard under-18 distance described by the federation. Those are two competitive settings with different distances. Her senior appearances describe the experience she brought to Dakar. The concrete basis of this first seed remains the Youth Games ranking round: 72 arrows, 688 points and 24 inner tens.[1]

Another tie on 688

The men’s ranking round also ended with two archers on 688. Chen Pin-An of Chinese Taipei and Egypt’s Ismail Ezzeldin shared that total. Chen’s 15 inner tens were four more than Ezzeldin’s, giving him the first seed. The same aggregate topped both the women’s and men’s standings, and in each case the central hits distinguished the leading pair. That comparison keeps attention on what the ranking round actually settled, without converting Yenihayat’s first seed into a forecast of the medals.[1]

Türkiye’s mixed-team position also came from the individual ranking rounds. Muhammet Musab Gülay’s 673, combined with Yenihayat’s result, left Türkiye behind only Korea. The individual first seed and mixed-team second place describe the archers’ positions in two different standings. Yenihayat’s defined gain at the end of this round was first seed despite matching Kim’s aggregate. Placing 24 inner tens alongside 688 gives that advantage its precise scale.[1]
