Qualified hardware
LG Electronics joined the Power and Cooling category of the NVIDIA Partner Network. Its coolant distribution units rated at 600 kilowatts, 1 megawatt and 2.6 megawatts had already passed NVIDIA reviews. The units move heat from processors to the cooling plant through liquid.[1]
The July review of the 600-kilowatt unit covered more than 100 criteria, including reliability and continued operation during failures. Network membership gives LG a route to customers designing NVIDIA-based data centers. The first step tested equipment; the second expands access to buyers.[1]
The next rung is a site
LG is targeting large cloud operators and data center landlords in North America. Its range spans chillers, coolant distribution units and cold plates touching processors. That gives the company a proposal covering the path from chip heat to the facility cooling system.[1]
A customer order, shipment and installation would show how much of that chain operates at a site. The September 27 announcement gives no counts for those steps. The qualified product list is known; how many units LG has put into customer facilities remains unspecified.[1]
