Payment and commissioning are different rungs

Oracle sent a force majeure notice to the developer of the Project Jupiter campus in New Mexico. The notice does not end the main tenancy. It allows the payment to be delayed if the 2028 target for the site is missed. The campus sits in Stargate, the initiative of Oracle, OpenAI and SoftBank.[1]

Oracle said the planned schedule still holds. The Blue Owl unit that received the notice said the financial commitments of the multi-year project are unchanged. Neither sentence says the 2.45 GW campus is energized. What they establish is that the lease relationship and the commitment text still stand.[1]

Two jobs with dates: gas and the permit

The campus is designed to run on Bloom Energy fuel cells. The Energy Transfer pipeline slipped by about 6 months after permit denials, and the new date is 1 February 2027. Without fuel, the 2.45 GW design the cells are meant to feed stays on paper. That gap shows up when announced power and gas delivered to the site are put on one denominator.[1]

The fuel-cell air-quality permit is still pending, and the state environment decision is dated 23 November. The dated checkpoints are that permit and the pipeline on 1 February 2027. A second reading is that the force majeure clause covers payment while the schedule Oracle stated still stands. Neither reading claims the campus is energized today.[1]
