Telangana’s minister avatar answers questions in two languages

Telangana demonstrated a digital likeness of IT and industries minister D. Sridhar Babu at Hyderabad’s DevFest. The avatar answered questions in English and Telugu about the state’s ambitions and technology-led growth. Officials envisage a later stage for citizen feedback and grievances, while the demonstrated use remains an onstage conversation rather than an operating public-service channel.

A digital likeness takes questions at DevFest

Telangana, a state in southern India, demonstrated an AI avatar of its IT and industries minister D. Sridhar Babu at DevFest in Hyderabad on October 24. The digital likeness appeared live onstage and answered young participants’ questions in English and Telugu. The questions included the state’s ambitions and technology-led growth. The minister himself also addressed the conference remotely in a keynote speech.[1], [2]

TensorGo supplies the avatar platform

TensorGo, a company developing AI systems for organizations, supplied its HumAIn platform for the avatar. Sai Krishna, the minister’s IT adviser, guided the work. More than 3,300 developers, students, engineers, architects and founders attended the Google Developer Group Hyderabad conference. Its programme addressed building, securing and scaling systems in the era of AI agents.[1]

Citizen feedback is planned for a later phase

Krishna described the demonstration as the first phase of a wider plan. A later stage would let citizens interact with the avatar, provide feedback and raise grievances. Officials have not established that these services are open. The demonstrated two-language exchange also came without a published independent accuracy test or an announced transfer of the minister’s administrative powers.[1]
