A fifth album follows Godspeed
Glasvegas announced Airy Fairy on 27 October, setting 2 April 2027 for its release through Modern Sky UK. The Scottish band’s fifth studio album follows 2021’s Godspeed after six years. New single Degüello opens the ten-track record. James Allan said he found the Spanish phrase in an old television film and discovered its personal connection while writing. He also linked the album title to accepting a description of himself that he had previously disliked.[1], [2]
Airdrie sessions completed within weeks
The group recorded Airy Fairy in Airdrie in late 2025. Allan handled production, with founding members Rab Allan on guitar and Paul Donoghue on bass. The musicians described completing the sessions within weeks after the longer process behind Godspeed. After Degüello, the tracklist runs through Airy Fairy, Holiday & Travel Brochure, My Hate Part, Virtually Real, TOOBIN’, Null, Even Your Darkness Has A Light Of Its Own and Lost In L.A., ending with Geographic.[1]
Eleven concerts in May and September
The accompanying UK and Ireland tour begins at Glasgow’s O2 Academy on 1 May 2027. May dates continue in Newcastle, Manchester, Leeds, Nottingham, Bristol and London. The September leg starts at Belfast’s Limelight 2 on 9 September, followed by Dublin, Cork and Limerick. Glasvegas announced eleven shows across the two runs. The album is planned for vinyl, CD and digital release, with Degüello available ahead of both the full record and the following year’s concerts.[1]
