A debut divided evenly
Sons of Cream will release its debut album Half And Half on 15 January 2027 through Marshall Records. The twelve-track record pairs six original compositions with six interpretations of Cream songs. Original song Strange Vibrations and the trio’s Tales Of Brave Ulysses are already available. Malcolm Bruce, the son of Jack Bruce, and Kofi Baker, the son of Ginger Baker, play alongside guitarist and vocalist Rob Johnson.[1], [2]
Originals beside the Cream catalogue
The original half also includes Only Lonely, Baked Pie, Milkshake Duck, How Can We Close Our Ears? and I’m Dreaming. Cream selections include NSU, I Feel Free, SWLABR, Sweet Wine and We’re Going Wrong alongside Tales Of Brave Ulysses. Bruce said the group wanted to respect its musical inheritance while writing new material. He described an intention to bring their own interpretation to the older songs instead of reproducing the original performances note for note.[1]
Milton Keynes sessions and a US tour
The album was recorded at Marshall Studio inside the Marshall Amplification factory in Milton Keynes, England. Bruce was the producer, with additional production from Johnson, Baker, Adam Beer and Ollie Brightman. Chris Sheldon mixed the recordings, and Christian Wright mastered them at Abbey Road Studios. A US headline tour is scheduled to begin in Nashville on 14 January, one day before the release. The announced itinerary includes New Orleans, Houston, Dallas, Austin, Seattle and Denver, with further concerts in April and May.[1]
