The Healing Power Of Horses announces its second short album of the year

British duo The Healing Power Of Horses has introduced 8725 with the song xstick_xstick. Due on 2 December through section1, the four-track release follows the pair’s July debut. The announcement comes before autumn appearances in Britain and continental Europe, followed by a February 2027 run opening for Ride in six British cities.

8725 follows the July debut

The Healing Power Of Horses, an electronic indie-rock duo from East Anglia in Britain, has announced 8725 as its second short album of the year. The music label section1 has set 2 December for the four-track release. Its first preview, xstick_xstick, is already available. The duo’s debut, Summer Indoors (or outside wearing black), came out in July. The musicians, who use the names t and c, signed to section1 earlier this year. The new collection opens with xstick_xstick and continues with GREEN VIGOUR, semper fi and Slumber! (Angel Remover).[1], [2]

The title carries the duo’s cryptic explanation

The pair offers two explanations for the number in the title. They connect 8725 to an entry rendered as Ithpeal or Imperfect in the Brown-Driver-Briggs Hebrew and English Bible lexicon. They also describe it as the number of songs left on a portable drive. Both descriptions form part of the musicians’ own statement accompanying the announcement. Their note refers to spending the summer outdoors, contrasting with the wording of their first release’s title. Stereogum describes their musical approach as mixing electronic elements into indie rock, while the members continue to identify themselves with single letters.[1], [2]

Autumn festivals precede February dates with Ride

The announced autumn route begins at Dark Arts at Belgrave Hall in Leeds on 31 October. London’s Moth Club hosts the duo for Pitchfork Festival on 4 November, before Pitchfork Avant-Garde in Paris on 7 November and Botanique in Brussels on 8 November. Ride, the British shoegaze band, takes the duo as support for six February 2027 shows. The dates are Bournemouth on 12 February, London on 13 February, Birmingham on 14 February, Leeds on 16 February, Manchester on 18 February and Glasgow on 19 February. The venues include O2 Academy Bournemouth, O2 Academy Brixton, O2 Institute Birmingham, O2 Academy Leeds, Albert Hall and Barrowland. The Brussels appearance also features Deer Park and Touching Ice. The schedule also lists Borderline Festival in Dublin on 20 February.[1]
