Taking In Stars arrives in January
Graham Hill, drummer for the dream-pop band Beach House, has announced his debut solo album Taking In Stars. He will release it independently on January 22, 2027. The first single, Monster In My Head, appeared on October 29. Hill shares production with Donald Markowitz, whose previous collaborators include Van Morrison and Taj Mahal. Shane Theriot, who has worked with the Neville Brothers and Willie Nelson, and Gabe Stillman are among the contributors.[1], [2]
Hill recalls a conversation with his son
Hill recalled a late-night conversation with his son, who was struggling to fall asleep as he entered his teenage years. His son described a small sound growing in his mind and music repeating beyond his control. Hill connected that description with his own tendency to overthink unresolved or uncertain matters in everyday life.[1], [2]
Tif Lamson and phin join the ten-song album
Better Ways opens the ten-song sequence, followed by Your Own River and Monster In My Head. Gravel Ghost and the title track precede Promise That You Live For, which features Tif Lamson. Heart Like The Sun comes before Pink House Blues, featuring phin. Sunday Return and Wrong Place Saloon complete the announced tracklist.[1], [2]
