Muna adds four reworks to Dancing on the Wall

Muna will release an expanded Dancing on the Wall on 13 November through Dead Oceans. Avalon Emerson, Romy, Arlo Parks and Porches contribute four reworks following the original album’s 13 songs. Emerson’s version of the title track is already available. The additions also revisit So What and Buzzkiller, giving selected songs new arrangements by outside collaborators.

Four guest versions

Music group Muna has announced an expanded edition of Dancing on the Wall with four reworks by Avalon Emerson, Romy, Arlo Parks and Porches. The album will arrive on 13 November through the label Dead Oceans.[1], [2]

Dancing on the Wall (Avalon Emerson Sweet Thing Remix) is already available. Romy’s In a Lesbian Trance remix of the same song will follow with the expanded release. Arlo Parks contributes So What (Summer Was Ecstasy Version), while Porches revisits Buzzkiller with the Nevada Remix.[1]

Emerson’s dance-floor approach

Muna says the group admired Emerson’s work as a DJ and was excited that she agreed to work on the song. Emerson described its catchiness, pace and energy as qualities that gave her material for a version intended for the dance floor. Her remix accompanies the announcement ahead of the full edition.[1]

The original sequence remains

The original Dancing on the Wall came out in May. Its 13-song sequence starts with It Gets So Hot and ends with Buzzkiller. The deluxe keeps that sequence, then adds the four guest reworks, making 17 tracks. Emerson and Romy’s versions of the title song come first among the additions, followed by the Parks and Porches contributions.[1]
