Factory promotion pairs Moreira with Quartararo

Honda confirmed that Diogo Moreira will join its factory MotoGP team in 2027 alongside Fabio Quartararo. The Brazilian moves from LCR Honda after his rookie season in the premier class. The announcement fixes Honda’s factory pairing for next season, with Moreira taking the next step within Honda’s racing organisation.[1], [2]

Honda Racing Corporation announced a multi-year agreement with the 22-year-old on 20 October. The exact number of seasons and financial terms were not stated. Moreira welcomed the move and thanked LCR for helping him adapt during his first year in MotoGP.[1]

Moto2 champion reaches first premier-class podium

Moreira began world championship racing in 2022 and won the Moto2 world title in 2025. Across the lightweight and intermediate classes, he collected five victories, 13 podiums and nine pole positions. In his first MotoGP season, he achieved his first top-ten finish at the Catalan Grand Prix, followed by a first Sprint podium at Motegi.[1]

Honda prepares for new technical regulations

HRC motorcycle racing division head Yuzuru Ishikawa emphasised Moreira’s ability to adapt across different motorcycles, from motocross through Moto3, Moto2 and MotoGP. Honda wants both its factory and LCR riders to contribute to motorcycle development as new technical regulations arrive next season. The manufacturer cited Moreira’s progress through those classes as part of the basis for the agreement.[1]
