Surgery ends Razgatlıoğlu’s remaining season
Toprak Razgatlıoğlu is to miss the remaining MotoGP races because his shoulder injury requires surgery. The Turkish rider’s team, Prima Pramac Yamaha, announced the decision after further medical examinations in Milan. His absence covers the Australian Grand Prix at Phillip Island and the rest of the season. The injury followed a crash at the Indonesian Grand Prix in Mandalika.[1], [2]
Milan operation scheduled for 26 October
Razgatlıoğlu travelled to Milan on 19 October for the examinations. Doctors found that surgical treatment was needed, and the operation is scheduled there for 26 October. Rehabilitation is to follow. The rider said the shoulder damage was more serious than first understood and that he had discussed the decision with doctors and people close to him. No precise return-to-racing date was announced.[1]
Yamaha plans Fernández as replacement
Yamaha test rider Augusto Fernández is planned to take over for the coming races. Team director Gino Borsoi highlighted his familiarity with the motorcycle through testing. Borsoi said Razgatlıoğlu’s health came first and pledged support during recovery, as the injury interrupts his work adapting to MotoGP. Razgatlıoğlu expressed disappointment at missing a circuit associated with special World Superbike memories and wished teammate Jack Miller well at his home event.[1]
