A late advantage disappears

TOFAŞ lost 105–101 after overtime away to Napoli Basketball in EuroCup. TOFAŞ finished regulation at 93–93 before the hosts’ overtime scoring settled the game. The visitors left with a four-point defeat after the additional period.[1], [2]

The fourth-round Group C game at Alcott Arena was TOFAŞ’s first defeat in the competition. The visitors trailed by eleven at the interval, with the scoreboard reading 53–42, but later recovered to lead 89–82 after Treshawn Thurman’s three-pointer with 3 minutes 23 seconds remaining. Napoli replied with two threes, and Markel Brown’s outside shot subsequently levelled the score at 91–91.[1]

Bryce Jones answered the hosts’ next basket to send the game into overtime at 93–93. Napoli opened the extra period with a 6–0 run. Jones and Shavar Reynolds brought TOFAŞ back within reach; Reynolds hit a three with 3.7 seconds left to make it 102–101. Napoli then completed the victory at the free-throw line despite TOFAŞ’s late attempt to close the gap in the final seconds.[1]

TOFAŞ erase an early double-digit deficit

TOFAŞ started Reynolds, Jones, Gabe Brown, Thurman and Terrell Carter. Yiğitcan Saybir was missing through injury. The visitors led 9–7 early on before Napoli’s 12–0 run changed the score to 19–9. The gap reached 27–13; a 7–0 TOFAŞ response reduced it, but the hosts still led 29–20 after the opening quarter.[1]

Jones helped narrow the gap to 33–30 in the second quarter. Napoli’s outside shooting restored a double-digit margin and a 53–42 halftime lead. TOFAŞ got as close as 60–58 in the third before consecutive Napoli threes prompted a Massimo Cancellieri timeout. The hosts led 73–66 entering the fourth; Zach Nutall’s contribution then helped TOFAŞ move ahead 77–75.[1]

Jones finishes with 32 points

Jones finished with 32 points and Reynolds added 22. Jamuni Mcneace and Thurman each scored 14. TOFAŞ’s announced schedule now includes a home game against Aliağa Petkimspor on October 25, followed by an away meeting with Slask Wroclaw on October 28.[1]
