Barcelona enters the completed calendar

IndyCar, the North American open-wheel motor racing series, confirmed a race at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in Spain for 2027. The announcement adds the Catalan circuit to the championship’s programme.[1], [2]

The race is scheduled for 18 July as part of a 17-race season. It falls between Mid-Ohio on 4 July and Portland on 1 August. Teams have two weeks on either side of the overseas trip. Friday’s release completed the schedule after the opening eight races were announced in August.[1]

Season runs from March to September

IndyCar announced that the season starts in St. Petersburg on 7 March and ends at Laguna Seca on 5 September. The Indianapolis 500 is scheduled for 30 May. The later programme includes World Wide Technology Raceway on 13 June and Road America on 27 June, before the visit to Mid-Ohio.[1]

Milwaukee stages a double race weekend

After Portland, the schedule goes to Markham in Ontario on 15 August. Milwaukee hosts two races on 28 and 29 August. Laguna Seca stages the finale for the 13th time. The calendar combines permanent road courses, street circuits and ovals. All 17 races are assigned to Fox for a third consecutive season; broadcast times and the developmental Indy NXT schedule are due later, the series said.[1]
