The English club won each of its opening three matches. Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan was sent off during the first half, with Bournemouth scoring twice from the penalty spot before the interval.[1]

The victory took Bournemouth to nine points and third place in the league-phase table. Justin Kluivert, Marcus Tavernier and Amine Adli scored, with the last goal arriving six minutes before the end of normal time.[1]

Two penalties establish the home lead

Kluivert converted the opening penalty in the eighth minute after Koni De Winter’s handball and a video assistant referee review. Maignan was dismissed in the 27th minute after putting both hands into Tyler Adams’s face during a corner. Substitute goalkeeper Lorenzo Torriani entered before Tavernier converted the second penalty in the 32nd minute.[1]

Adli adds a late free-kick

Adli came off the bench and scored in the 84th minute with a free-kick that went through the defensive wall. Rayan later headed over and Torriani made another save. Bournemouth manager Marco Rose said his team had applied pressure before Milan lost a player and stressed humility and contributions from the whole squad. Milan manager Ruben Amorim discussed keeping 11 players on the pitch and avoiding such mistakes.[1]
