Žalgiris recall Keenan Evans from London

Žalgiris Kaunas recalled Keenan Evans, ending his loan spell with London Lions. The London club linked the decision to Nigel Williams-Goss’s injury. Evans played four European games and four domestic league games during his stay. The thirty-year-old guard returns to the Lithuanian club he previously represented between 2022 and 2024.

Evans ends his loan spell in London

Lithuanian basketball club Žalgiris Kaunas recalled guard Keenan Evans from London Lions. His return ends a loan arranged before the start of the 2026-27 season. Evans had played for London in both European and domestic competition, with four appearances in each tournament during his stay.[1], [2]

London Lions said the recall followed an injury to Nigel Williams-Goss and was intended to reinforce Žalgiris’s guard rotation. Evans returns to a club he already knows: he previously represented the Kaunas side between 2022 and 2024. The guard is thirty years old.[1]

Four games in each competition

In the EuroCup, the European club competition, Evans averaged 11.8 points and 2.8 assists across four games. His four appearances in Britain’s SLB Championship had averages of 9.8 points and 3.5 assists. London listed the figures separately for the two competitions rather than presenting them as one combined set.[1]

London thanks the returning guard

Lions general manager Martynas Purlys thanked Evans for his contribution and wished him success on his return to Kaunas. The London club praised the guard’s experience, composure, leadership and professionalism. It also credited his ability to organize the offence and create opportunities for teammates during the loan spell in its backcourt.[1]
