Indiana Fever loses president and dismisses general manager
Indiana Fever president Kelly Krauskopf stepped down before general manager and chief operating officer Amber Cox was dismissed later the same day. The changes leave the WNBA franchise looking for new front-office leadership after a first-round playoff exit. No clear successor has emerged, and the connection between Krauskopf’s departure and Cox’s dismissal remains unclear.

Two leadership changes in one day
Indiana Fever president Kelly Krauskopf stepped down on Friday, and general manager Amber Cox was dismissed later the same day. Cox also held the chief operating officer role. The WNBA club is changing its senior front office after its season ended in the first round of the playoffs.[1], [2]
Krauskopf had spent nearly three decades at Pacers Sports & Entertainment. She returned to the Fever in autumn 2024 after serving as an assistant general manager with the Indiana Pacers. ESPN’s sources said she had told leadership before the regular season ended that she intended to leave.[1]
The connection between the exits is unclear
ESPN said the relationship between Krauskopf’s decision and Cox’s dismissal was unclear. The report did not identify a clear successor for either executive. Cox had previously worked for the Connecticut Sun, Dallas Wings and in the NWSL. Her departure leaves Indiana without the general manager who had been overseeing its roster.[1]
Roster decisions remain ahead
Indiana lost to the Las Vegas Aces in this season’s first playoff round, a year after taking the same opponent to a deciding semifinal game. Kelsey Mitchell is due to become an unrestricted free agent and has said she will explore her options. ESPN sources expect Stephanie White to remain head coach; that is a reported expectation rather than a new club appointment.[1]
