Barcelona catch Valencia on six wins
Barcelona defeated Valencia Basket 98–94 at Palau Blaugrana, their home arena in Spain. The ninth round of the EuroLeague, Europe’s leading men’s club basketball competition, left both sides on six wins and three defeats. The visitors remained in contention until the final moments.[1], [2]
Parra answers Brooks with four three-pointers
The hosts made their first five three-point attempts and opened a 19–11 lead, with Kevin Punter contributing to the fast start. The first quarter ended 30–25. Valencia tightened their defence in the next period, and T. J. Shorts provided an attacking option as Barcelona’s half-time advantage narrowed to 44–42.[1]
Armoni Brooks pushed Valencia forward after the break, but Joel Parra responded with four consecutive three-pointers. Barcelona still could not pull away: only a point separated the teams at 69–68 before the last quarter. The visitors kept creating extra attempts through offensive rebounds during the closing period.[1]
Robinson carries the closing attack
Justin Robinson handled important possessions in the final five minutes, while Parra collected a late rebound and Darío Brizuela contributed at the free-throw line. Robinson finished with 22 points, Parra 19, Punter 18 and Brizuela 15. Brooks scored 26 for Valencia. Olek Balcerowski missed the second half with a possible right-shoulder injury. Valencia’s search for a EuroLeague win at this arena continued.[1]
