Domestic trials bring new pistol shooters
Ravin Kumar, 24, is making his international debut in men’s 10 metre air pistol. His journey to Doha is also his first trip abroad and first flight. Jaypal Malviya, 31, is preparing for his second international appearance. Both earned their team places through their domestic trial averages.[1]
Sainyam Vij has taken a place in women’s 10 metre air pistol alongside Manu Bhaker and Suruchi Phogat. Under India’s revised Olympic selection arrangements, winning a quota carries a bonus point added to the athlete’s average trial score.[1]
