Minter names Fagnano for Jacksonville
Baltimore Ravens coach Jesse Minter has named Joe Fagnano to start against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday. It will be the rookie’s first start in the National Football League, following injuries to Lamar Jackson and Tyler Huntley. Baltimore hosts the game at M&T Bank Stadium after three consecutive defeats. The team has only a short week to prepare following Sunday’s loss at Buffalo.[1], [2]
Ankle injury does not keep Fagnano out of practice
Fagnano also injured his ankle against Buffalo but stayed in the game after replacing his two injured teammates. He took full part in Tuesday’s practice with his right ankle heavily taped and said he felt fine. Minter described him as calm and praised how the offense had operated with him during preseason. Fagnano joined Baltimore after going unselected in the draft out of UConn, then won a place on the opening roster.[1], [2]
Baltimore reshapes its quarterback group
The Ravens signed Kedon Slovis from Green Bay’s practice squad and brought Austin Reed back to their own practice squad on Monday. Slovis has previously worked with Baltimore quarterbacks coach Israel Woolfork in Arizona. Jackson and Huntley did not practise on Tuesday. Jackson had required thumb surgery after his hand struck Greg Rousseau during a passing follow-through; Huntley subsequently left the Buffalo game with a toe injury.[2], [1]
