Ravens complete Brissett trade after quarterback injuries

Baltimore completed its trade with Arizona for quarterback Jacoby Brissett after injuries to Lamar Jackson and Tyler Huntley. The Ravens also receive a 2027 fifth-round pick, with two draft selections heading the other way. Brissett had lost Arizona’s starting role and now reunites with quarterbacks coach Israel Woolfork.

Baltimore adds Brissett

The Baltimore Ravens and Arizona Cardinals announced on 6 November that they had completed the trade sending quarterback Jacoby Brissett to Baltimore. The transaction adds an experienced player to the Ravens’ quarterback group after the teams worked during the week to finalise the move.[1], [2]

Under the terms reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter and NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Baltimore receives a 2027 fifth-round pick alongside Brissett. Arizona gets a fourth-round selection in 2027 and a seventh-round pick in 2028. The Cardinals adjusted the payment structure of Brissett’s contract before his departure.[1]

Injuries leave Ravens short at quarterback

Lamar Jackson suffered a thumb injury requiring surgery and was placed on injured reserve. Tyler Huntley also injured his big-toe joint; sources told Schefter and Rapoport that he would miss the rest of the season. Undrafted rookie Joe Fagnano started against Jacksonville while both were unavailable. Baltimore has given no definitive return timetable for Jackson.[1]

A reunion with Woolfork

Brissett had fallen behind Gardner Minshew and rookie Carson Beck in Arizona’s quarterback order. A source told ESPN he requested a trade after coach Mike LaFleur informed him of that change on Monday. In Baltimore he reunites with quarterbacks coach Israel Woolfork, with whom he worked in Arizona last season and Cleveland in 2022.[1]
