What 24 hits earned
Monika Stibrava hit 24 targets and finished fourth in the women’s skeet final in Doha. That finish earned Slovakia a Los Angeles 2028 quota. Immediately behind her, Kazakhstan’s Assem Orynbay placed fifth with 20 hits and also secured an Olympic place for her country. Those two positions matter directly to the qualification outcome.[1]
The podium was entirely Chinese: Jiang Yiting won gold with 34 hits, Che Yufei silver with 32 and Jiang Chaoyu bronze with 27. Jiang Yiting’s result earned China a quota. The medals therefore went to one country, while three Olympic places went to China, Slovakia and Kazakhstan.[1]
Two columns of results
Stibrava’s fourth place matters to her country’s Olympic qualification. A medal-based assessment foregrounds China’s dominance. An assessment of quota gains also includes Slovakia and Kazakhstan among the countries gaining places. This final offers a concrete example of the same hit standings producing different outcomes for the world title and national qualification.[1]
China took three medals and one Olympic quota. Slovakia and Kazakhstan each gained a quota through fourth and fifth place. Adding national places alongside the medal table completes the account of Stibrava and Orynbay’s results: the two shooters immediately behind the podium delivered a concrete qualification gain for their countries.[1]
