Mistral completes a 3 billion euro Series D led by Samsung
In a Series D led by Samsung Electronics, Mistral said it had raised 3 billion euros at a valuation above 21 billion euros. Scaleup Europe Fund and PSG Equity co-led; Advent, BlackRock funds and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg joined as new investors. Mistral says the money goes to frontier research, compute and infrastructure. Mistral raised 3 billion euros in its Series D
On 8 September Mistral said it had raised 3 billion euros in a Series D led by Samsung Electronics. The post-money valuation now stands above 21 billion euros. In Mistral's own characterisation, the round is the largest equity fundraising ever completed by a European technology company.[1], [2]
Scaleup Europe Fund and PSG Equity co-led the round
Scaleup Europe Fund and PSG Equity co-led the Series D, with Samsung Electronics in the lead. Advent, BlackRock funds and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg came in as new investors, while existing backers a16z, ASML, Bpifrance, Nvidia and Salesforce Ventures also took part. The 3 billion euro raise stands at a post-money valuation above 21 billion euros, and Mistral describes the round as the largest equity fundraising ever completed by a European technology company.[1]
The money goes to research, compute and infrastructure
Mistral says the 3 billion euros it raised in the Series D go to frontier research, to compute for training models and to a wider infrastructure build. The company reports that it serves more than 125 enterprises in 20 countries and names Airbus, ASML and HSBC among those customers.
