Power Station session arrives in December

Noah Lennox, the Animal Collective musician who records as Panda Bear, will release pb band live 25 at power station on December 11. Domino Documents, the label’s series for live studio recordings, will issue the 17-track album. The five musicians recorded it at New York’s Power Station in autumn 2025, after the UK and European opening leg of the Sinister Grift tour. A new performance of Take Pills is the first preview.[1], [2]

Five musicians share the studio parts

Lennox played most of the guitars, bass, keyboards and drums on Sinister Grift himself. Taking those arrangements on tour led him to assemble his first Panda Bear band. He sings lead and plays guitar, with Tim Koh on bass, Rivka Ravede on samplers, Maria Reis on keyboards and percussion, and Tomé Silva on drums. The other four musicians also sing backing vocals. Animal Collective colleague Josh ‘Deakin’ Dibb, who worked on Sinister Grift, oversaw the Power Station session.[1]

The repertoire reaches back to Person Pitch

The programme includes Sinister Grift songs such as Ferry Lady, Ends Meet and Praise alongside material from older albums. Take Pills comes from 2007’s Person Pitch; Tomboy, Slow Motion and Alsatian Darn represent the 2011 album Tomboy. Rarer choices include the Notwist reworking Boneless and Song for Ariel, an early piece that later developed into Animal Collective’s Guys Eyes.[1]
