Nico Paz scores twice as Como beat Manchester United 4-1

Como beat Manchester United 4-1 with Nico Paz scoring twice and setting up Tasos Douvikas. The Italian hosts struck early in both halves and added a fourth through Jacobo Ramon. Michael Carrick’s half-time changes did not stop the goals, while Joshua Zirkzee’s stoppage-time finish gave United only a late consolation.

Paz leads Como’s home victory

Como beat Manchester United 4-1 at their Giuseppe Sinigaglia stadium in Italy in the Champions League. The hosts completed the victory in heavy rain.[1], [2]

Nico Paz put Como ahead in the second minute, curling a left-footed shot into the far top corner. United had an early chance through Diogo Dalot, who controlled Matheus Cunha’s cross but shot wide. Harry Maguire later headed Bryan Mbeumo’s delivery past the target.[1]

Como strike again after Carrick’s changes

United manager Michael Carrick introduced Carlos Baleba and Amad Diallo for Andrey Santos and Cunha at half-time. Como nevertheless scored in the 49th minute as Paz sent Tasos Douvikas behind Matthijs de Ligt to finish. In the 57th minute, Paz won the ball from Baleba in United’s half, advanced towards goal and scored his second with his left foot. Lucas da Cunha also shot wide from inside the box.[1]

Ramon heads in the fourth

Substitute Kaiki Bruno attacked down the left in the 76th minute and crossed for central defender Jacobo Ramon to head Como’s fourth. United had threatened through Amad, who failed to connect properly with Bruno Fernandes’ pass and later saw Jean Butez save another effort. Joshua Zirkzee eventually replied in stoppage time, controlling Amad’s delivery and finishing from close range. Cesc Fabregas’ side retained their three-goal winning margin.[1]
