Trafford keeps Brobbey out before the interval
Sunderland and Leeds United drew 0-0 in the Premier League at a windswept Stadium of Light. Leeds goalkeeper James Trafford stopped Brian Brobbey’s shot, then raced out to smother another chance after the forward ran behind the defence. Daniel Farke had made three changes to Leeds’ starting side, bringing in Brenden Aaronson, Harry Wilson and Jaka Bijol for the away fixture.[1], [2]
Saves and blocks continue after halftime
The teams reached halftime without a goal. After the interval, Jayden Bogle’s cross passed Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Gabriel Gudmundsson fired over. Robin Roefs collected Tarik Muharemović’s header from a Wilson corner. Trafford then parried Nilson Angulo’s powerful effort, while Bijol blocked Chris Rigg. Sunderland’s attempts to increase the pressure again met saves and defensive interventions.[1]
Leeds’ late chances bring no winner
Roefs parried Ao Tanaka’s low shot and collected the ball before Calvert-Lewin could reach it. Farke introduced Lukas Nmecha with five minutes remaining. Sean Longstaff then had one attempt strike Nmecha in the penalty area and another saved by Roefs, while Noah Okafor had two shots blocked. The visitors’ late openings brought no winner, and Sunderland’s winless league run continued.[1]
