Goztepe leave Istanbul with three points
Goztepe beat Fenerbahçe 2-1 at Chobani Stadium in Istanbul in the tenth round of the Süper Lig. The visitors recovered from a half-time deficit with late goals from Armstrong and Henrique. Fenerbahçe’s only goal came from Matteo Guendouzi in first-half added time. The result left the home side on 16 points and took Goztepe to 15 points in the league.[1], [2]
Guendouzi finishes a Lukaku lay-off
Fenerbahçe’s opening goal began with a cross from Levent Mercan. Romelu Lukaku laid the ball off and Guendouzi finished with his right foot. The hosts threatened again after the interval, but Goztepe goalkeeper Arda Ozcimen saved Kerem Akturkoglu’s 52nd-minute shot. Kerem also struck the post in the 71st minute. At the other end, Ederson denied Miroshi in the 68th minute.[1]
Armstrong and Henrique turn the score around
Armstrong equalised in the 76th minute after reaching Guendouzi’s back-pass behind the defence and beating Ederson. Henrique then headed in at the near post from Anjorin’s corner to give Goztepe the lead. Fenerbahçe found no response to the visitors’ late scoring sequence. In the opening half, Ederson had saved Janderson’s effort with his foot and pushed a Bokele header behind for a corner.[1]
