Lopez and Armstrong establish the lead
Three headed goals gave Wolves a 3-0 victory over Cardiff City at Molineux. Lopez opened the scoring in the 10th minute and Adam Armstrong doubled the lead five minutes later, in the 15th minute. Ladislav Krejci added the third after the interval. Wolves extended their unbeaten Championship run to four matches. Their early pressure had already brought a save from Nathan Trott against Jordan James and a blocked effort from Rafiki Said.[1], [2]
Crosses and a corner bring the goals
Hugo Bueno delivered the ball that Lopez headed into the net for the opener. Armstrong then met Said’s cross to give the hosts a 2-0 half-time lead. Said had an opportunity to add another before the interval when Trott gave the ball away, but could not beat the goalkeeper. In the 58th minute, Kieran Trippier’s corner found Krejci, whose header increased the advantage to three goals.[1]
Cardiff’s chances bring no reply
Jose Sa saved Tanner’s first-half volley and was tested by Joel Colwill after the restart. Cardiff later came close when Yousef Salech’s header struck the post after Sa’s intervention, but Colwill could not convert from close range. Wolves also sought a fourth through Jean-Ricner Bellegarde and Rodrigo Gomes. Neither team added another goal, allowing the hosts to finish with a clean sheet and the three-goal margin established by Krejci.[1]
