Two late goals reverse the result

Bristol City beat Bolton Wanderers 3-2 at the Toughsheet Community Stadium after trailing with six minutes of normal time left. Sam Bell made it 2-2 in the 84th minute, then Scott Twine struck in the third minute of stoppage time. Both scorers came off the bench. Jed Wallace supplied the cross for Twine’s winner, leaving Bolton with a third successive home defeat after a match that had twice turned in their favour.[1], [2]

Bolton answer Ballard and take the lead

Dom Ballard had opened the scoring for City from Jason Knight’s low delivery. Josh Sheehan levelled three minutes later with a long-range shot after receiving Thierry Gale’s pass. Sheehan captained Bolton in the absence of injured Eoin Toal. After the break, Gale advanced on the left and crossed for Atsuki Ito. Sam Dalby supplied the final touch to put Bolton 2-1 ahead, scoring his fifth goal of the season.[1]

Goalkeepers keep the contest open

Jack Bonham kept out efforts from Luke McNally and Wallace while Bolton led. At the other end, Bradley Collins denied Ruben Rodrigues before Bell’s equaliser and later held Kyliane Dong’s follow-up. Bolton had also hit the woodwork through Ito. Steven Schumacher had made eight changes to his team with six players unavailable through injury. The official attendance was 21,706, including 1,656 Bristol City supporters.[1]
