Dortmund twice recover in Munich

Borussia Dortmund drew 2-2 away to Bayern Munich in the eighth round of the Bundesliga. The visitors twice came back from a goal behind, with Fabio Silva scoring the final equaliser in the 89th minute. His finish from fellow substitute Konstantinos Karetsas’s pass earned Dortmund a point after Bayern had held a half-time lead and then regained their advantage during the second half.[1], [2]

Guirassy answers Laimer before Upamecano scores

Konrad Laimer opened the scoring in the 38th minute after goalkeeper Kobel stopped his first attempt and he converted the rebound. Serhou Guirassy equalised in the 60th minute from Carney Chukwuemeka’s assist. Six minutes later, Dayot Upamecano put Bayern ahead again, with Harry Kane involved in creating the goal. Kane had earlier hit the crossbar with a penalty in the 57th minute.[1]

Kovac’s substitutes combine for the late reply

Dortmund coach Niko Kovac brought Karetsas on in the 67th minute and Silva in the 76th. Their combination supplied the visitors’ second recovery in the 89th minute. Bayern also hit the woodwork through Michael Olise earlier in the match and Lennart Karl in added time. The game was watched by 75,024 spectators, with neither team able to turn its scoring chances into a decisive fifth goal.[1]
