Anthropic pulled out of the Decart talks, Bloomberg reported

Anthropic has pulled out of talks to buy the Israeli AI company Decart for about 6 billion dollars, according to Bloomberg. Crypto Briefing writes that the deal, had it closed, would have been the company's largest known acquisition. The Next Web reports the same Bloomberg account: the company had explored a deal and completed due diligence before walking away. Representatives for both companies declined to comment to Bloomberg.[1], [2]

The offer was mostly stock and sat about 50 percent above the May valuation

According to Crypto Briefing the offer was structured mainly in stock and stood about 50 percent above the close to 4 billion dollar valuation Decart carried in a May 2026 round. The Next Web reports that the May round, led by Radical Ventures, raised 300 million dollars and, per the Wall Street Journal, valued the company at close to 4 billion dollars, up from 3.1 billion dollars the previous August. A 6 billion dollar purchase would have been roughly a 50 percent mark-up four months later. Decart, founded in September 2023, has raised roughly 450 million dollars.[1], [2]

No reason was given; the purchase target was reported as chip efficiency

No reason for the withdrawal was disclosed; accounts attributed to people familiar with the talks point to findings that surfaced during due diligence. The Next Web writes that Decart is known publicly for world models, but the acquisition rationale was efficiency: its optimisation stack is designed to make chips work harder across training and inference. The three founders hold about 64 percent of the company. Anthropic is reported to be weighing a listing this autumn.[1], [2]
