Palantir names Nebius its preferred sovereign AI infrastructure partner

Palantir and Nebius said on Tuesday that Nebius is Palantir's preferred sovereign AI infrastructure partner. After an integration period, Nebius compute and inference endpoints are to be brought inside the Palantir perimeter. The joint announcement gives no timeline or capacity figures.

Nebius became the preferred sovereign infrastructure partner inside Palantir's perimeter

Palantir and Nebius said on Tuesday that Nebius is Palantir's preferred sovereign AI infrastructure partner. Unite.AI reports the same step: Palantir named Nebius its preferred sovereign AI infrastructure partner. After an integration period, Nebius compute and inference endpoints are to be brought inside the Palantir enterprise perimeter. Eligible Palantir customers then reach that infrastructure while keeping control of their compute, data and models.[1], [2]

The joint announcement names AIP, Ontology, Foundry and Apollo

The joint announcement names Palantir's Sovereign AI Operating System, AIP, Ontology, Foundry and Apollo. Unite.AI writes that Palantir described that operating system as built on AIP, Ontology, Foundry and Apollo, as an authorisation and isolation layer. The stated aim is that eligible customers run open-weight models beside their own data inside the Palantir perimeter. The announcement gives no timeline or capacity figures.[1], [2]

New capacity is to be sped up with modular builds at sites that already have power

The companies say they are to accelerate new capacity through modular data-centre deployments at sites where power is already available. Unite.AI reports the same plan: the approach targets locations with existing power rather than requiring new power infrastructure before capacity can come online. Palantir chief executive Alex Karp said Nebius compute infrastructure powers the ability to run AI models under conditions customers control. Nebius chief executive Arkady Volozh said organisations need both the performance of large-scale AI infrastructure and control over their data and models.[1], [2]
