Dodge will return to NASCAR Cup racing with Kaulig Racing for the 2027 season. Stellantis announced the programme ahead of the SEMA automotive show in Las Vegas. It marks a return after its Cup participation ended in 2012.

Kaulig anchors the return

Dodge, the American car brand, will return to the NASCAR Cup Series with Kaulig Racing for 2027.[1], [2]

Stellantis announced the programme ahead of the Specialty Equipment Market Association automotive show in Las Vegas. Tim Kuniskis, who heads the group's American brands and performance activities in North America, presented the return. Kaulig will serve as the anchor team for both Dodge and Ram. Ram's return with Kaulig had already re-established a factory-backed presence at the track.[1]

Drivers and car will be unveiled separately

Kaulig plans to name its driver line-up during NASCAR championship weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway. The new Cup race car is scheduled for a 4 December reveal during the Snowball Derby at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Florida. The event will also feature an exhibition with equally prepared Dodge Charger stock cars. The car presentation is planned for FloRacing and the NASCAR Channel. The return announcement has not yet named drivers.[1]

Dodge follows its championship departure

Dodge last competed in Cup in 2012, when its Charger won the championship. Its first Cup victory came in 1953. The Snowball Derby dates to 1968 and its main event runs for 300 laps on a short track. Kuniskis said the returning programme had been put together in a short preparation period and that development would continue on the track.[1]
